Brian DuMont
Chief Executive Officer
Brian started Yardnique in 1997 while attending North Carolina State University and graduated in 1998 with a degree in Landscape Horticulture. Since, under Brian’s leadership, Yardnique has grown to become one of the largest landscape organizations in the nation.
Brian enjoys spending time with his wife Summer, and their blended family of 6 children. When Brian is not working or attending one of his children’s events, he and Summer are working on another passion - to be the next Chip and Joanna Gaines fixing up, staging, and flipping houses.
Rob Wood
Chief Financial Officer
Rob joined the Company as its Chief Financial Officer in 2021. Rob has over 30 years of progressive financial experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis. Previously, he was the CFO/Controller at several private-equity backed companies including Stay Online, Electronic Systems Protection, Burt’s Bees and TogetherSoft. Rob began his career at Deloitte & Touche and is a graduate of Fairfield University in CT.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, swimming, exercising, and scuba diving.
Norma Avalos
Chief of Staff
Originally from Texas, Norma moved to North Carolina in 2012 and joined the Yardnique family in March 2017. Norma’s background in business management and administration has been invaluable to Yardnique’s growth and assisting Yardnique’s CEO to carry out the company’s vision.
Norma enjoys new adventures while traveling, going to baseball/hockey games, loves a trip to the beach, hanging out with her family, and journaling in her spare time.
Jeff Walters
Chief Operations Officer
Jeff Walters joined the Company as its interim Chief Operating Officer in March of 2024. Jeff has over 29 years of experience in the Facility Service industry. Prior to joining the organization, he was the Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence at Cushman & Wakefield, leading a team to advance operational standards and delivery for their facility service business. His tenure showcased his ability to drive significant business transformations, improve productivity, client retention, and service quality across multiple client relationships.
On his personal time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife, Carolyn, where you will likely find them working together to raise money for non-profits serving the Triangle.
Ashley McDermott
Vice President, Human Resources
Ashley joined Yardnique as Vice President of Human Resources in 2022 and brings over ten years of human capital management experience to the team. Ashley leads talent acquisition, career development, compensation, benefits, and diversity and inclusion efforts as Yardnique expands its operations throughout the southeast. Originally from Hartsville, SC, Ashley grew up in Raleigh, NC and graduated with a BA in Management from East Carolina University.
In Ashley’s free time, she loves to travel to new places, spend time with her family, and always enjoys a bit of retail therapy.
Robbie Blair (RB)
Vice President, M&A and Corporate Development
Robbie is the newest member of the Yardnique management team, earning his Bachelors Degree from Texas Christian University. Robbie leads Yardnique’s acquisition strategy with extensive finance and M&A experience previously working at SENTA ENT, FORVIS, Truist Securities, and JP Morgan.
Robbie currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia and is loyal to his TCU Horn Frog sports. When not helping to expand Yardnique’s national footprint, Robbie covets his family time and dining with friends.
Adam Boyette
M&A Integrations Manager
Adam joined Yardnique in 2013 and brings over 20 years of landscape and horticulture experience, primarily in commercial maintenance. He has played an integral role in Yardnique’s growth and continued expansion.
Originally from Florida, Adam moved to North Carolina in 2005 and worked for a wholesale nursery before returning to account management. Adam now lives in Florida and enjoys his time outdoors and spending time with his family.
Barrett Hines
Regional Manager - Triangle, Triad, & Charlotte
Barrett has been a member of Yardnique’s Landscape Maintenance division since January 2010. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from North Carolina State University. Prior to working at Yardnique, Barrett’s experience in the green industry included retail nursery sales and landscape installation.
Barrett lives in Raleigh with his wife Allison, their daughter Cameron, and the family dog Milo. He enjoys the outdoors, golfing and traveling.
Ken Catalano
Regional Manager - Florida
Ken has grown up around the construction and landscape industry. He has served in leadership roles within the green industry for the last 20 years. His experience includes roles in project management, operations management, business development, and operational excellence. Ken is a servant leader who focuses on leadership development, career growth, & operational excellence.
Ken will be leading our teams in the Florida region. He is married with a beautiful daughter. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor enthusiast, and is a firearms and self-defense instructor.
Corey Bittner
Regional Manager - Coastal Carolinas
Originally from Walden, New York, Corey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Contracting from SUNY Cobleskill in Cobleskill, New York. His first 10 years of experience in the green industry were at design/build firms in upstate New York where he designed and installed full scale projects including patios, retaining walls, pools, plantings, irrigation and landscape lighting.
Corey relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina with his wife Marcia and joined the Yardnique family during the summer of 2013. While not working, Corey enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and going to the beach with his friends.
Bryan Garruto
Regional Manager - Georgia
Born and raised in New Jersey, Bryan has spent most of his life in the south after earning his BSBA in Marketing from LaSalle University. After starting in the industry in 2001, Bryan worked his way up to Branch Manager before joining NatureScapes as their General Manager in 2015 and now leads Georgia operations.
Bryan is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with his wife Alison and their two daughters, Emerson and Elise.
